I felt so nervous when I attended my first yoga class in1999. The other people in class were so fit and seemed to know a lot about yoga. I felt out of shape and uncoordinated. Luckily, I’m a pretty determined person, so I kept going. Later, I learned that my fit classmates included members of the Stanford University swimming team. They were practicing yoga as part of their training for the Olympics!

A few years later I decided to attend yoga teacher training. Because of how intimidated I felt during my first experience with yoga, I knew I wanted to teach a different kind of yoga - yoga that would be accessible and feel welcoming to everybody.

I opened my studio, Round Rock Yoga, in 2010, and several years later I was fortunate to complete additional training in yoga therapy at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, India. I learned how to customize yoga for individual needs and goals, and this knowledge comes through in every class and lesson I teach.

I want people to know that a consistent, gentle yoga practice can make an enormous different in your health and wellness, and I want people to know that EVERYONE can practice yoga.

My Yoga for Bigger Bodies videos have received over a million views on YouTube, and my channel has been recognized as Best Yoga Channel by Healthline.com, Self magazine, Forks Over Knives, and more.
