I remember attending my first yoga class in1999. I felt so nervous and out-of-place. Everyone was so fit and seemed to know exactly what to do. I felt lost and uncoordinated. Nevertheless, I persevered.
A few years later I attended my first 200 hour yoga teacher training, and because of my introduction to yoga, I knew I wanted to teach a different kind of yoga - yoga that would feel accessible and welcoming to everybody.
I opened my studio, Round Rock Yoga, in 2010. We offer yoga that’s accessible for people with all kinds of bodies, in an inclusive and welcoming space. I completed an additional 1000 hours of training in yoga teaching and yoga therapy at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, India. I learned how to customize yoga to address specific needs and I use this knowledge in every class, private session, and video I teach.
